Mr. Leggett is a lawyer practising with Martin+Associates, Barristers in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is a trial lawyer who has acted in significant criminal cases at both the trial and appellate levels. His practise focuses on criminal and extradition cases, as well as related civil litigation (such as civil forfeiture), constitutional and human rights, regulatory and judicial review matters. He has defended cases on behalf of individuals and corporations facing a variety of criminal charges, including fraud, market manipulation, foreign and domestic corruption, human smuggling, attempted murder, drug trafficking, aggravated assault, domestic assault, sexual assault and contempt of court. He has represented clients, including students, from China, Europe and the Middle East before many courts and tribunals, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Prior to joining Martin + Associates, Mr. Leggett practised at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Vancouver and what is now Norton Rose Fulbright in Montreal. He studied law at McGill University (BCL/LLB) and political studies at Queen's University. He also studied international law at the Université libre de Bruxelles.
